Music Lessons in Oakwood

I teach guitar, piano, clarinet, saxophone, and music theory to students in Oakwood and the surrounding area. My studio is in Southgate — just along the Piccadilly line — and I also travel to students across Oakwood for home visits.

Whether you are just starting out or working towards an exam, I work with students of all ages and all levels.

Lessons at Your Home in Oakwood

I offer home visits across Oakwood. If travelling to a studio is not practical, I come to you — so lessons can fit around school, work, and everything else.

ABRSM Exam Preparation

I prepare students for ABRSM grade exams across guitar, piano, clarinet, and saxophone. If you are working towards a specific grade, I will make sure every lesson is focused and purposeful.

About Your Teacher

My name is Saygın. I graduated from Ege University State Conservatoire in Turkey, where I studied piano and clarinet, and completed a pedagogical formation programme at the same university — giving me both the musical training and the formal teaching skills to work with students of all ages and backgrounds.

Over a 20-year career, I have taught, performed and published. Before moving to London, I performed regularly on national television and major radio stations, and worked as a studio musician on album, commercial and film recordings. In 2019, I published Klarnet Eğitimi — a comprehensive clarinet method book.

In 2020, I moved to London and established North London Music Lessons. My youngest students are five years old — and I also teach working adults who are picking up an instrument for the first time.

How I Teach

Every student is different, and lessons should reflect that. Some students come with a clear goal — an ABRSM exam to pass, or a piece they have always wanted to learn. Others are just starting out and are not sure yet where music will take them. Both are a great place to begin.

Patience and consistency are at the heart of every lesson. Progress looks different for every student — and that is exactly how it should be.
